BACK TO HANDRAILS

A pair of fern motif handrails for some keen gardeners near Canterbury. Each fern was individually textured and shaped to suit its position in the handrails and the leaves were arranged in pairs so that the front and backs of the veins would be visible, depending on where you approached the handrails from. They were rustproofed with a zinc coating followed by an acid treatment to etch the surface, bringing out the hand forged character.
